Sharing is caring!

Whether you are new to the blogging game or have been around the block a few times, Tailwind is a MUST. Especially, if you are using or want to use Pinterest or Instagram as your main source of traffic. I am not joking WITHOUT it, you will feel unorganized, like you are wasting time and you might even pull a little hair out.

If you have not started your blog yet, check out my, how to start a blog post! It is an easy step by step guide that helps you set up your blog and launch it within minutes!

A Pinterest and Instagram automation scheduling tool that manages your content and analytics all in one app. Tailwind will save you time, maximize your audience reach, measure your pins success with analytics, keep you informed on what is trending and driving traffic. It is basically the holy grail to get it together with traffic and Pinterest.

Personally, my blog focus for traffic currently is just Pinterest. So that is what I am going to share with you today.

What does Tailwind have to offer?

  •  Keeps you organized and efficient.
  • Tailwind is a Pinterest Partner aka they know what is going on with Pinterest’s algorithm and you will too.
  • Plug and play. Add your pins once a week and leave it. Minimizing manual pinning to none.
  • Tailwind Extension that let you pick multiple pins on Pinterest’s homepage to be added to your Tailwind schedule.

Board Insights – aka your analytics, show you which pins, and boards are working.

  • Impressions: how many people see your pin
  • Repins: how many times your pin was pinned by someone else
  • Followers: people following your boards
  • Virality Score: repins divided by pins per board
  • Engagement: repins divided by pins per board divided by followers

Board Lists have you group similar Pinterest boards together. This will let you upload pins to multiple boards all at once instead of having to type in each board, one at a time. Talk about making your life EASIER. It is as easy as one click.

  • For example, you have a new post, ‘17 Must See’s in San Francisco’ you created new pins for your post and are ready to schedule it. You have 5 Pinterest boards that this pin fits under (Travel, California, Travel Tips, San Francisco Things to Do and Destinations) with boards list you can assign the pin to all these boards in one click.

Pin Inspector shows which pins are performing the best, gives you the option to re-pin to the same board or a different one. And gives recommendations to similar content for you to post.

Scheduling Pins

Smart Scheduling is the optimal time when your audience will see a pin. All you do is pick the number of pins you want to schedule daily. Tailwind will figure out the best times for your audience, suggest times outside of these times and give you the option to pick times you want to schedule as well. SUPER EASY.

Interval Scheduling is used for group boards to avoid spamming out the same pin all at once. For example, you can set a day between each pin and schedule it to optimal times.

Shuffling your queue. Perfect if you are scheduling one pin at a time and have the same pin back to back. This button mixes them up.

Power Up's

Tailwind Tribes are an additional power up from the subscription to Tailwind for Pinterest. AND so worth it! This is basically a group board but on steroids. What do you do? Join Tribes in your niche. Once you are a member you have access to pin your pins in the group and others will take your pins and share them on their own boards. You will share theirs on your boards and voila you suddenly have your pin in front of millions. I am not exaggerating.

  • Not only will you get awesome content from other bloggers in your niche, but your content will also be put in front of them! Win, win.
  • You also, get tribe analytics. This will show you what Tribe is working best for you and if you should post more or if it is time to try another Tribe.

Smart Loop is brand new, and another must power up. This has you add your content (popular) and puts it on a loop to keep pinning. You pick the amount of time between pins and how often you want the pins rotating through.

The more activity you have on Pinterest the more followers you have and essentially the more traffic you will drive to your website. This sounds like a win, win.

Tailwind is something that I can set up one day a week and let it be. I like to do this weekly so I can follow what my audience is repining, saving, seeing, etc. In the future it can become a monthly task but for now, I like to stay on top of it. Throughout the week I will add to my Tailwind as well to keep it up to date with fresh content.

How to use Tailwind

Sign up is quick and easy using this link. Now that you are in Tailwind, get familiar with the dashboard and all the terms I shared above. Tailwind has so many great resources and videos to become a pro in no time.

Set your pinning schedule & schedule your first pin

Let’s set your pinning schedule!

Decide how many pins you want to send out each day. This will vary and your number will likely grow as your blog grow. Tailwind will tell you the best times to post in green and suggestions in a green dotted outline. Don’t forget you can also, add your own times.

Now let’s schedule your first pin!

In the top left corner above it click on ‘Create Pin’ you can choose to upload an image or grab a pin from Instagram. I create my pins on Canva and then upload the image to Tailwind like in the picture. After the image is uploaded, I pick which board or boards (using my board list) to add the pin to multiple boards.

Add an optimized description for the pin. I like to use the metadata in my post on my blog and popular searches on Pinterest. Scroll to the bottom to set up interval timing, so the pin does not go out one after the other. When this is set, SCHEDULE.

Tailwind Extension

To batch upload download the Tailwind extension. This is one of my favorite aspect, because even when you are just scrolling through Pinterest on your computer or phone you can still be scheduling.

Once your extension is downloaded, head to Pinterest where you can click on the extension and easily pick which pins you want to schedule to your queue in Tailwind. It is that easy.

On the go you can even use the Tailwind App on your phone, I love it. So easy, especially when I am traveling and my goal in life is to travel all the time, so an app makes my life easier.

Try Tailwind today for 100 pins and no credit card upfront.
